The festival months are beginning.
Mission’s Rockin River Music Festival, Aug. 9 to 11, has added Dwight Yoakam to its roster. Although the country fest has a lot of imported talent, it has plenty of the homegrown variety, too, including Randy Bachman, Ridley Bent, One More Girl, Aaron Pritchett, The Higgins, Karen Lee Batten, Kenny Hess,Brent Lee, Todd Richards, Chris Buck Band, The Matinee and Stacey McKitrick.
Like Youthink magazine the Ignite Youth Festival is supervised and run by youth aged 13 to 24 years old. It’s a relevant appreciation of various arts from a youth perspective. Music night will be in the Historic Theatere of the Cultch, May 14. Appearing are: Jacob Walters, Aardvark Robinson, Nina Houle, Mortal Soil, Ian Shram, The Cut Losses, Clara Chisholm and Anna Sulla with Rosie Laird.
